Mullen, a retired carpenter, farmer, and municipal employee, who shares his observations on the land speculation, settlement, and development in the Coastal Bend area of South Texas from 1910 to 1950. He also discusses life on the Taft Ranch, President William Howard Taft's visit, agrarian social life, Mexican-Anglo relations, and African Americans.
